I am back too....I did record for this weekend, so this will be a 3 day compilation. I realize that I am making much smarter choices when I do eat out. I did not used to eat out that much, but after recording my food I realized I do! So I have started making smarter choices....
11/14 4 pancake w/ lite sausage, 3 pcs pizza, handful of chips, celery & carrots, Salad w/ chicken and ranch, 1/2 a beer
11/15 banana, granola bar, pretzels, meatballs w/ marinara (1.5 cups), trail mix, LF Chicken Parmesan (made w/ Plain nonfat yogurt, very tasty), small cookie dough blizzard (woops, I splurged)
11/16 pretzels, string cheese, grain bagel w/ RF cream cheese, banana, 1 cup red fat icecream, yogurt, med fries, hamburger (mcdonalds) -- on a side note I have not gone to McDonalds to eat for years, and we had a craving, so we went after Baptism class. I should have made a smarter choice and got a salad, but I waited to long to eat and was over hungry. We did not eat dinner until 9 pm and that was the problem. It is harder to make smarter choices when you are starving!
I did weigh myself on Mon AM and after doing this approx. 3 weeks, I have lost 3 lbs. No bad, 1 lb a week, but I would like to step that up to 2 -3 lbs a week. Yeah, I think my food is starting to get on track, now I need to step up the exercise no matter how hard it is.
I am looking into doing a 5 K, Jen, I don't know if you are watching this blog, but would you be interested in joining me? I know you had enjoyed the church one. I will keep you posted if interested.

Monday, not bad except for the milk duds I had to have because I craved them all weekend. Otherwise I did okay and actually got some exercise in last night while watching one tree hill. Today so far, Spam lite for breakfast and yes I like it and I need my protein in the morning. Tangerine and handful of cashews for a snack, salad and naked nuggets for lunch. Hoping to hold out for a bowl of chili at dinner.
ReplyDeleteyeah san, for sure! the 5K last summer was so much fun, although difficult since i didn't train at all. but i'm starting to train for a 10K tim and i are doing next august...and we're doing the church 5K again. i'd love to do another one! it gives me more motivation to work out! keep me posted.
ReplyDeleteon the side of eating healthy, my schedule is so wacky. i eat a good solid breakfast, and then don't eat until 7 or 8 at night usually. today i've been good; i also ran 10 minutes on the treadmill, walked 10 minutes, and then did 25 minutes on the elliptical. i've chosen not to weigh myself for another week and a half, until i get more on track. i'll get nutty if i weigh myself anytime soon. :)
Jeanne, sounds like you had a good eating day! Congrats...keep it up!
ReplyDeleteJen, I will keep you posted. What 10K are you guys doing this summer? I am always looking for good races. I have finally been able to make it back up to running for a mile. Pretty amazing what taking several months and gaining tons of wieght will do to me. Slowely I will get back up to running several miles, I need motivation as well so that is why I like to book races.
Do you eat anything for lunch?? If you skip lunch your metabolism drops tons and is really counteractive to eating well and working out. Your body basically feels like it is starving itself so all the food you eat for dinner it hoards (sp?) and will not expend as energy. Skipping meals causes your body to store fat and burn muscle....okay I am off my dietitian rant, but for real just some kind advice. Even taking a small snack like almonds and some pretzels would give you a small 200-300 calorie lunch that would be enough to tell your body not to slow down your metabolism. Make sure you are combing protein w/ carbs though.
